About the position

The Graphic Designer (Art Director) at OEC Graphics, Inc. plays a crucial role in a creative team dedicated to innovative design solutions. This position involves translating graphics into recognizable brands, working both independently and collaboratively to meet client needs. The designer will engage in artwork, layout design, and copywriting, ensuring that all visual communications effectively represent the OEC and AMPHORA brands.

Responsibilities

• Establish the visual brand vision and design strategy for multiple projects.
• Create outstanding graphic design across all channels, including print, packaging, and interactive media.
• Solve complex communication problems from concept to design and execution.
• Consult with clients to determine objectives, budget, and presentation approaches.
• Formulate layout designs and specify material details such as type, photographs, and graphics.
• Review and approve proofs of printed copy and art materials developed by the team.
• Manage multiple projects effectively within tight deadlines.
• Present final layouts to clients for approval.
• Hire, train, and direct staff members and freelancers in developing design concepts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience in a pre-press/printing/agency environment.
• 1 year of experience with Adobe Illustrator.
• Solid computer skills in InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Quark and Acrobat.
• Ability to handle demanding schedules and multiple priorities.
