About the position

The Graphic Designer at Saint Peters University is responsible for creating a variety of marketing materials that align with the university's brand standards. This role involves designing assets for digital and print media, managing projects, and collaborating with various departments to deliver cohesive and visually compelling solutions across multiple channels.

Responsibilities

  • Design creative assets for social media posts, digital display ads, email content, and printed materials.
  • Create an editing and approval process for all creative content to ensure adherence to brand standards.
  • Ensure all content aligns with the university's brand guidelines and design best practices.
  • Coordinate with the Office of Marketing & Communications team to develop strategic creative solutions for marketing campaigns.
  • Independently manage multiple projects while adhering to timelines.
  • Collaborate with academic departments to provide creative solutions that meet their needs.
  • Liaise with agency partners to ensure graphic and video materials meet specifications.
  • Manage and organize video and graphic content on shared drives.
  • Stay updated with design trends and propose innovative ideas for content enhancement.
  • Guide design student workers in their daily tasks related to marketing materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic/Interactive Design, Visual Arts, Digital Media Production, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of proven design experience with a focus on marketing and promotional collateral creation.
  • Experience working within brand guidelines and translating them into graphic mediums.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Adobe Express).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and Google Suite.
  • Strong understanding of layout and typography skills and trends.
  • Strong marketing communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in agency, higher education, and brand environments.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn).
  • Video editing skills, including experience with Premier Pro, After Effects, and Final Cut Pro.
