About the position

The Graphic Designer at ZEISS will play a pivotal role in the Shared Services Department, focusing on both B2B and B2C marketing initiatives. This position requires a strong background in graphic design, with responsibilities spanning digital and offset printing, large format printing, in-store branding, and digital media. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player who is passionate about service and quality work, possessing an eye for detail and the ability to adapt to various design challenges. The Graphic Designer will be responsible for creating compelling design concepts for a variety of marketing materials, including brochures, catalogs, digital media, and trade show graphics, while ensuring adherence to ZEISS Brand Guidelines. In addition to design responsibilities, the Graphic Designer will manage project timelines and client feedback, ensuring that all projects are completed on time and within budget. This role also involves web development tasks, including the design and layout of ZEISS websites and digital banner ads. The Graphic Designer will need to stay updated on design trends and new features in Adobe Creative Suite and Generative AI, demonstrating strong concepting skills and a superior sense of typography and color. The position requires excellent organizational skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. The Graphic Designer will also be involved in workflow management, receiving job requests, creating production schedules, and monitoring projects through all phases of production. This role is essential in maintaining the quality and consistency of ZEISS's marketing materials across various platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Design and create marketing materials including brochures, catalogs, digital media, and trade show graphics.
  • Manage project timelines and client feedback to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Develop and maintain an in-house library of all electronic master files.
  • Work closely with ZEISS Brand Guidelines to ensure brand consistency across all materials.
  • Facilitate copy revisions, photo retouching, and color correction as needed.
  • Create wireframes and storyboards for digital media and web development projects.
  • Monitor projects through all phases of production and communicate status to internal clients.
  • Manage collateral inventory levels and collaborate with internal clients for updates or reprints.
  • Proofread all printer digital proofs and in-house revision markups for accuracy and detail.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in graphic design, project management in an advertising agency, marketing, or corporate creative services department.
  • Extensive graphic design skill sets with knowledge of print, large format printing, and digital media.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Premiere, and Adobe After Effects.
  • Experience in video post-production editing and photography.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with an exceptional eye for detail.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in optical or similar medical/technical product categories.
  • Experience working in a multi-national brand company.
  • Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Digital Marketing Design.
