About the position

The Graphic Designer in Creative Services plays a vital role in the MTS Design Team, responsible for upholding high standards of design and communication for one of San Diego County's key services and brands. Reporting to the Creative Design Manager, this position involves providing design and production support across various departments, particularly Marketing, and encompasses a range of print and digital design projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, design, and produce graphic design projects for marketing campaigns and promotions.
  • Create print design materials including marketing collateral, fare media, rider newsletters, advertisements, brochures, and vehicle wraps.
  • Design digital assets such as signs, advertisements, website content, social media graphics, and video presentations.
  • Ensure adherence to MTS brand guidelines and maintain brand consistency across all projects.
  • Coordinate production and distribution of projects, including obtaining cost estimates and managing the internal Purchase Order process.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams to strategize and create a variety of materials including web pages, presentations, and internal communications.
  • Prepare quality print projects based on design knowledge and printing processes.
  • Review work performed by outside vendors for accuracy and quality.
  • Staff marketing outreach events as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of full-time graphic design experience in print and digital projects.
  • Proficient in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat.
  • Working knowledge of motion graphic software including Adobe Animate and After Effects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in photography and video shooting with a solid understanding of camera equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of design principles for print and digital media.
  • Ability to communicate design choices clearly and effectively.
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of MTS policies and regulations.
