About the position

The Graphic Designer at American Payroll Institute Inc. is responsible for creating visual communications that align with the branding and visual specifications of PayrollOrg and its affiliated companies. This role requires a high level of creativity and proficiency in graphic design, working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment to produce high-quality designs for both digital and print media.

Responsibilities

  • Creates graphic designs that identify a product, service, or message, ensuring quality and branding specifications are met.
  • Ensures brand standards are consistently followed across the organization and assists in defining new standards as brands evolve.
  • Plans and illustrates concepts by designing rough layout ideas.
  • Performs edits and implements suggestions for review, circulating and tracking drafts to culminate in final, press-ready artwork.
  • Prepares final press-ready packages and uploads them to printers' FTP sites.
  • Tracks progress of projects to ensure timely completion.
  • Works with external printers or production teams to ensure deadlines are met and materials are printed or presented to the highest quality.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to understand project scope, audience, and intended message.
  • Advises on best practices and optimizations throughout design projects.
  • Maintains awareness of new technology and trends in printing and digital techniques.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in Graphic Design.
  • High level of proficiency using Adobe products like InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, and use of Mac operating system.
  • Basic to intermediate skills in Adobe Cloud library, In Book Design, and logo creation.
  • Proficient in creating digital graphics for the web and social media.
  • Ability to produce creative and innovative designs for digital and print collaterals.
  • Possesses the ability to receive, interpret, and implement constructive feedback from project stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience managing vendor relationships with outside printers and other agencies.
  • Knowledge in photo and video editing.
