About the position

The Graphic Designer/Control Specialist role at Stefanini Group is a dynamic position based in Deerfield, IL, that combines creativity with precision in the realm of product labeling. This position is hybrid, requiring the selected candidate to work onsite for training and then two days a week in the office thereafter. The primary responsibility of the Graphic Designer will be to create labels and perform proofreading and verification tasks to ensure that input documents align with output documents. This role demands collaboration with team members to address any discrepancies identified during the labeling process, as well as executing data and document management entries within the electronic document management system. In this role, the Graphic Designer will be tasked with designing from concept, creating and executing designs, layouts, and illustrations, and publishing artwork. It is crucial to ensure that all labeling is created or revised according to the provided requirements. The designer will also be responsible for typesetting packaging components, which includes text, graphics, chemical structures, and bar codes, ensuring compliance with established guidelines and standards. The ability to maintain clear traceability through multiple revisions is essential, as is proficiency in Adobe software such as Acrobat, Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator. Additionally, the Graphic Designer will proofread product labeling to ensure it conforms to all inputs, utilizing both manual techniques and electronic comparator software like Global Vision. Verifying that labeling artwork meets specification requirements, including dimensions, tolerances, and readability, is a critical aspect of this role. The designer will also perform product data and document management entry, configuration, and processing in the electronic document management system, all while meeting project timelines and commitments in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute designs, layouts, and illustrations for product labeling.
• Ensure labeling is created/revised according to provided requirements.
• Typeset packaging components including text, graphics, chemical structures, and bar codes as per guidelines.
• Collaborate with the team to finalize artwork and submit for agency approval.
• Maintain clear traceability with multiple revisions of artwork.
• Proofread product labeling to ensure conformance to inputs using manual techniques and electronic comparator software.
• Verify labeling artwork meets specification requirements such as dimensions and readability.
• Perform data and document management entry in the electronic document management system.
• Meet labeling project timelines and commitments.

Requirements

• Advanced Diploma or Degree in Art & Design, Graphical Design, ICT, IT, or equivalent.
• 3 to 5 years of work experience in a similar role.
• Completed artwork design certification program or proficiency examination.
• Experience in design control and document proofreading in accordance with ISO standards.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite and Adobe software including Acrobat, Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
• Ability to use electronic comparator software and manual proofreading techniques.
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong interpersonal communication skills.
