About the position

The Rescue Mission is seeking a Full-time Graphic Designer to work on their Main Campus in Syracuse, NY. This role involves designing various collateral for both print and digital use, supporting multiple departments within the organization. The Graphic Designer will report to the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications and will be responsible for ensuring that all designs meet project specifications and adhere to brand standards.

Responsibilities

• Create visually appealing designs that meet project specifications and adhere to brand standards.
• Use a Digital Asset Management system to organize and manage project files.
• Adhere to department workflows and procedures while coordinating with Rescue Mission personnel.
• Quote commercial print jobs to vendors, track costs, and submit purchase requests.
• Ensure that budgeted jobs stay within budget.
• Create physical mock-ups and one-off print pieces in-house.
• Participate in regular meetings with the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications to update on project status.
• Manage occasional photography needs when necessary.
• Attend Rescue Mission events after-hours, weekends, and holidays for marketing collateral.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Promote a safety-first attitude by ensuring compliance with safety policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design or visual communication-related studies required.
• 2+ years of professional graphic design experience.
• A valid NYS Driver's License in compliance with company policy is required.
• Ability to have on-site attendance on major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong skillset/knowledge in layout design, particularly within Adobe InDesign.
• Strong project management skills.
