About the position

The Graphic Designer will collaborate with various departments to create on-air still and motion graphics, utilizing advanced broadcast technology. The role involves maintaining and enhancing the graphic aesthetic of the station while managing graphic needs for multiple projects. The designer will work closely with news management and producers to develop visually compelling designs that support storytelling in daily newscasts.

Responsibilities

• Create on-air still and motion graphics for various departments including news, promotions, internet, and sales.
• Maintain and advance the graphic look of the station.
• Manage and organize all graphic needs and related files for multiple projects.
• Interact daily with news management, producers, and directors to create visually compelling designs.
• Design and build graphics for nightly newscasts, including full screen monitor graphics, over the shoulder graphics, maps, mugshots, and information graphics.
• Work primarily with template-driven designs using Photoshop.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Knowledge and experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator & Premiere Pro).
• Hands-on experience working in a live production environment.
• Experience with Ross Xpression or Chyron graphics systems and integration of ENPS newsroom solutions software is recommended.
• Clear communication skills to interact with newscast directors and flexibility to adapt in rapidly changing situations.
• Experience with technical television news production, graphics design, and/or electronic media.

Benefits

• Compensation of $22.00+/hr commensurate with experience and skill level.
