About the position

The Graphic Designer at DCS Corp will be responsible for creating and communicating information through various visual means. This role involves designing and displaying visual materials such as photographs, illustrations, diagrams, graphs, objects, models, slides, and charts for a variety of uses, including books, magazines, pamphlets, exhibits, and live or video-recorded speeches or lectures. The designer will utilize a comprehensive suite of Government-approved software, including Microsoft Office products and Adobe Creative Suite, to develop Government briefing packages, documentation packages, spreadsheets, certificates, awards, and other visual materials for events. In addition to design work, the applicant will be tasked with photographing and video recording events using Government-furnished equipment or coordinating the use of recording services through available Government resources. This includes storing, editing, packaging, and replaying recorded data. The designer will provide these services for various organizational events such as retirements, town halls, change of commands, ribbon cuttings, and similar ceremonies. The role requires a strong understanding of visual communication and the ability to convert vague concepts and ideas into clear and effective presentation materials. The position demands a high level of creativity, technical skill, and attention to detail, as the designer will be responsible for ensuring that all final-form graphics are error-free and meet the required standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in graphic design, particularly in the context of business or Government organizations, and will be adept at using a variety of software tools to produce high-quality visual content.

Responsibilities

  • Design and display visual materials such as photographs, illustrations, diagrams, graphs, and charts.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office products and Adobe Creative Suite to develop Government briefing packages and documentation.
  • Photograph and video record events using Government-furnished equipment.
  • Store, edit, package, and replay recorded data for organizational events.
  • Prepare printed media including brochures, pamphlets, and other materials with multiple illustrations and typesetting.
  • Convert vague concepts and ideas into effective presentation materials.
  • Ensure all final-form graphics are error-free and meet required standards.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Arts, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 consecutive years of experience within the last 10 years in a business or Government organization, preferably with ground combat vehicle systems experience.
  • Experience in preparation of printed media such as brochures and pamphlets that include illustrations, graphs, and photographs.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Claris Draw, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft Publisher for preparing final-form graphics.
  • Experience in utilizing MS Office products and audio/video capture tools for developing visual materials.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Adobe After Effects and Adobe Audition.
  • Familiarity with Snag IT 13 and VLC Media Player.
