About the position

VDC Research is seeking a full-time Graphic & Web Designer to support the production department in creating visually engaging designs for research deliverables and managing the company's website. The role involves collaborating with a team to produce graphics, charts, and layouts for various projects while ensuring the website is maintained and updated effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, produce, and lay out insightful and informative charts, tables, and other graphics that support written research.
  • Work with research analysts to provide support and direction on customized projects, including graphics, designs, and illustrations.
  • Organize and maintain department resources including files, templates, style guides, and upgrading relevant company standards when necessary.
  • Assist department leads in the finalization of reports and documents for submission to clients, including formatting, proofing, layout, security, submission, and organization.
  • Review VDC's editorial standards and practices, and recommend changes when applicable.
  • Compile a library of images and graphics for future reports and research by analysts.
  • Maintain and expand VDC's website, considering best practices for site navigation and organization.
  • Work closely with all VDC departments including sales, marketing, and analyst teams to update relevant information on the website in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent training in graphic design or a related field.
  • 2-3 years experience in graphic design or a related field.
  • Strong skills in visually representing concepts and data sets.
  • Understanding of business and technology concepts to inform best ways to visualize important messaging.
  • Ability to work in a PC environment (no Macs).
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong collaborative skills when working with other team members.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and short turnaround times.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver).
  • Basic to moderate knowledge of HTML.
  • Passion for learning and contributing to a deadline-driven business.
