About the position

The Graphics and Mechanical Designer at GCX Healthcare Solutions is responsible for supporting product development operations through the creation and modification of assembly instructions, artwork for labels, and CAD file creation for medical devices. This role involves both primary and secondary functions, including research, design, testing of mechanical and electromechanical products, and providing technical support across various departments.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and modifies artwork for labels, brochures, and customer assembly and operation instructions (IFU) using CAD models.
  • Researches and analyzes data to determine the feasibility of design or applications.
  • Directs and coordinates fabrication and installation activities to ensure compliance with engineering design and customer specifications.
  • Utilizes Computer-Aided Design (CAD) for design data processing and developing alternative designs.
  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research/testing, applying knowledge of product design and fabrication.
  • Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods and validating manufacturing processes.
  • Develops positive relationships with functional managers to implement verification plans.
  • Acts as a consultant to improve Quality and Manufacturing processes.
  • Supports product designs related to manufacturability and facilitates the launch of new products.
  • Resolves manufacturing and supplier quality concerns.
  • Serves as a technical reviewer for engineering documents and test reports.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from a recognized university.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with CNC machined components and sheet metal components.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (CREO parametric or SolidWorks) is desired but not required.
  • Experience with Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop or similar graphics design software.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Self-motivated leader with the ability to operate with self-direction.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills using fundamental engineering concepts.
  • Desire to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and hands-on manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience writing technical specifications is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of material and tools for CNC machining and sheet metal processes.
  • Basic knowledge of GD&T and drawing interpretations for CNC machined components.
