About the position
The Grassroots Engagement Director at The LIBRE Initiative in Nevada is responsible for identifying, recruiting, and engaging grassroots leaders to drive policy reforms that create opportunities for the community. This role involves mobilizing activists, organizing events, and ensuring ongoing communication and motivation among grassroots leaders to advocate for public policy changes aligned with the principles of Americans for Prosperity.
Responsibilities
- Identify and recruit grassroots leaders in various parts of Nevada.
- Motivate local leaders to advocate for changes consistent with AFP principles.
- Organize events to engage the public through various outreach methods.
- Ensure regular contact with activists to keep them motivated and educated.
- Manage part-time canvassing contractors, ensuring compliance and best practices.
Requirements
- Passion for building relationships and inspiring people from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of state and federal public policy landscapes.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Excitement for canvassing neighborhoods and making phone calls.
- Valid driver's license for travel as needed.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in grassroots advocacy, community organization, or political campaigns.
- Volunteer or staff supervisory experience.
- Proficiency in Spanish and English.
