About the position
The Technician position at OFS involves supporting the Sensing manufacturing division by performing production work on the Fiber Bragg Gratings product line. The role focuses on fabricating and measuring Fiber Bragg Grating arrays, conducting analysis, and collaborating with a team to improve processes. The position primarily operates during the 2nd shift, with flexibility in scheduling.
Responsibilities
- Set up production equipment within the grating station.
- Fabricate and measure Fiber Bragg Gratings products.
- Complete measurement and production documentation.
- Support engineering on process development activities.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required; College/Technical degree preferred.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing and production testing.
- Ability to read and understand complex manufacturing drawings/process layouts.
- Experience in fusion splicing and measurement of optical fibers desired.
- Precision, accuracy and attention to detail is critical.
- Ability to collect and record measurement data.
- Capable of operating precision measurement equipment.
- Experience working with high power lasers, optics, optical fibers, and fusion splicers preferred.
