This residential facility is dedicated to fostering a safe environment with a diverse array of mental health services, including personalized therapy sessions, medication management, and life skills training. Cornerstone ensures each individual's unique needs are met with precision and empathy, offering round-the-clock care and supervision that nurtures their well-being. The Community Support Specialist position is a graveyard shift role within the Residential (Pathways) department, with a salary range of $21.54 to $28.71 per hour. The starting wage is determined using a bona fide factor system that considers years of experience, education, credentials, and specialty skills relevant to the job requirements. This position requires a commitment to providing direct client services to individuals diagnosed with serious mental illnesses and/or addiction issues who reside in the agency's residential facilities. As a Community Support Specialist, you will teach activities of daily living such as housekeeping, cooking, personal hygiene, and personal finance. You must possess the knowledge and abilities to model appropriate interpersonal and vocational skills and behaviors. The role also requires the ability to effectively manage high-stress situations, handle unusual human behavior, and resolve conflicts. Reliable transportation, a good driving record, a valid driver's license, and proof of current automobile insurance are essential for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct client services to individuals diagnosed with serious mental illnesses and/or addiction issues.
  • Teach activities of daily living including housekeeping, cooking, personal hygiene, and personal finance.
  • Model appropriate interpersonal and vocational skills and behaviors.
  • Effectively manage high-stress situations and resolve conflicts.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • At least one year of experience working with individuals with mental health needs.
  • Combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties outlined for this position.
