About the position

The Community Support Specialist at Columbia Community Mental Health (CCMH) provides essential support to individuals with severe and persistent mental illnesses in a residential setting. This role focuses on delivering direct client services, teaching daily living skills, and fostering a safe and supportive environment for residents. The position operates on a graveyard shift from Friday to Monday, ensuring continuous care and supervision for clients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct client services to individuals diagnosed with serious mental illnesses and/or addiction issues.
  • Teach activities of daily living, including housekeeping, cooking, personal hygiene, and personal finance.
  • Model appropriate interpersonal and vocational skills and behaviors.
  • Effectively manage high-stress situations and resolve conflicts.
  • Maintain reliable transportation and a good driving record.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • At least one year of experience working with individuals with mental health needs.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of current automobile insurance.
