About the position

The Assistant Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing the sales staff within their division, aggressively pursuing sales goals, and developing new business opportunities. This role requires fluency in Chinese or Korean and English, as the manager will coordinate sales activities and promotions while ensuring customer needs are met. The position plays a crucial role in evaluating territory performance, managing key accounts, and supporting the sales team to achieve organizational objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision of all sales staff for their division/department within assigned accounts.
  • Aggressively pursue sales goals and objectives.
  • Support individual and team activities to achieve organizational goals.
  • Develop new business and ensure achievement of short and long-range sales objectives.
  • Coordinate sales activities and promotions with employees and clients.
  • Evaluate territory performance against established objectives and take appropriate actions to improve performance.
  • Manage and develop key accounts.
  • Review and analyze product expiration to execute sales promotions.
  • Prepare periodic reports and update databases showing sales volume and potential sales.
  • Recommend future growth potential to Sales HQ.
  • Develop a territory coverage plan for customer contact.
  • Recognize and seek out sales opportunities and provide customer service.
  • Support pricing studies and respond to customer requirements.
  • Monitor and adjust purchasing of products to control inventory.
  • Participate in planning training and seminars to enhance product knowledge.
  • Monitor sales staff schedules to ensure customer meetings are met.
  • Conduct evaluations on all sales staff within the team.
  • Communicate new product opportunities and feedback to appropriate staff.
  • Cooperate with accounting to ensure collection of accounts receivable.
  • Cooperate with inside customer service personnel to achieve sales goals.
  • Perform other managerial duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 5 years of related sales experience.
  • 4 years of managerial experience.
  • 2 years of sales experience with Asian Food Client as a Lead Sales Associate II or similar role.
  • 2 years of managerial experience with Asian Food Client as an Area Team Manager or similar role.
  • Experience utilizing computers, including Microsoft Office and Oracle ERP software.
  • Business analysis experience with the ability to identify improvement opportunities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the food industry, particularly Asian cuisine.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
