About the position

As a key finance partner for manufacturing at GE Gas Power in Greenville, South Carolina, the Greenville Manufacturing Operational Finance Analyst plays a crucial role in driving financial performance and operational efficiency. This position is integral to supporting manufacturing finance activities, including planning, pacing, monthly operating reviews (MOR), closing, and audits. The analyst will be responsible for identifying and effectively communicating financial risks and opportunities, as well as their impact on operational key performance indicators (KPIs). This role requires a deep understanding of financial variance drivers, including volume, mix, program savings, PCO, and FX, to provide insights and transparency to actual costs. The analyst will align the site and value stream roadmap to develop a pipeline aimed at improving or controlling total cost per unit, labor, and overhead rates. In addition to supporting standard costing, SMI, FIFO, and COPQ processes, the analyst will help understand the impacts on site inventory and turns. The role also involves supporting fixed asset and inventory physical audits and partnering to implement remediation plans to enhance plant-level controls. Acting as the key financial liaison to the Greenville Manufacturing Finance Leader, the analyst will drive LEAN initiatives across multiple manufacturing sites within Greenville. Furthermore, the analyst will lead project initiatives for the global supply chain, including potential due diligence for investments and return on investment assumptions. This position also entails acting as the lead finance project manager for supply chain integration activities, ensuring standardized financial reporting aligns with GSC reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Supports manufacturing finance activities and rhythms, including planning, pacing, monthly operating reviews (MOR), closing and audits
  • Identifies and effectively communicates financial risks and opportunities and their impact on operational KPIs
  • Understands and communicates financial variance drivers including volume, mix, program savings, PCO, FX
  • Provides insights and transparency to actual costs, aligning site/VS roadmap to develop pipeline to improve or control total cost per unit and labor and overhead rates
  • Supports process and analytics surrounding standard costing, SMI, FIFO, COPQ and helps understand impacts to site inventory and turns
  • Supports fixed asset & inventory physical audits and partners to implement remediation plans to improve plant level controls
  • Acts as key financial liaison to Greenville Manufacturing Finance Leader to drive LEAN initiatives across multiple manufacturing sites
  • Leads project initiatives for global supply chain including potential due diligence for investments, such as return on investment assumptions
  • Acts as lead finance project manager for supply chain integration activities to ensure standardized financial reporting to align with GSC reporting requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college
  • At least 3+ years of finance and/or accounting experience

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior domain expertise in FP&A or supply chain finance
  • Knowledge of accounting policies and practices, including standard costing, inventory, and fixed assets
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • System ERP Expertise: SAP PMX
  • Working knowledge of visualization software: Tableau
  • Established project management skills, including relevant experience leading complex initiatives cross-functionally
  • Preference will be given to current Gas Power Finance employees and graduates of finance management leadership programs.
