About the position

The Grid Management System Support Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring the Outage Management System (OMS) and Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) support the safe operation of the electric distribution system. This position involves gathering customer needs, working with IT to clarify requirements, conducting testing and quality assurance of system configuration changes, and supporting grid modernization efforts. The analyst is responsible for maintaining accurate data and supporting the operational integrity of the electric distribution grid.

Responsibilities

  • Update and modify data between GIS and ADMS to support real-time operations.
  • Create and maintain substation displays and other schematics in ADMS.
  • Update SCADA point information within GIS for connectivity testing.
  • Perform load flow analysis to assess data accuracy under direction of senior staff.
  • Integrate data corrections into the model across multiple teams and systems.
  • Retrieve and analyze GIS inputs and engineering documents to resolve conflicts.
  • Support System Operations in using ADMS and manage data configurations.
  • Assist in developing operational rules and maintaining the ADMS training simulator.
  • Provide support for ADMS data management during storms.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree and 3 years of experience in a related field, or equivalent training and experience.
  • Demonstrated creative thinking and analytical skills.
  • Experience in modeling geospatial data.
  • Some experience in gathering system or user requirements.
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance and Data Validation methods.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in GIS or a science/engineering field.
  • Experience with GIS, OMS, SCADA, ADMS/DMS.
  • Knowledge of electric utility construction standards.
  • Experience with Smallworld GIS, PowerOn OMS, or Schneider ADMS.
  • Experience in a real-time Operations environment.
  • Familiarity with MS online collaboration tools.
