About the position

The Grocery Clerk I position at Festival Foods is a part-time role focused on ensuring compliance with company policies and achieving departmental goals. The clerk contributes to store sales and profitability by managing inventory, providing exceptional guest service, and maintaining product presentation standards.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that product is within date, rotated, and properly displayed according to the assigned planogram.
  • Provide exceptional guest service on the sales floor by greeting, acknowledging, and reacting to guest needs.
  • Assist with unloading product from pallets and organizing the stock room.
  • Ensure proper presentation of products on the store shelves and in cases.
  • Observe sales floor conditions and take action to correct areas of opportunity.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels and ensure accurate pricing on products received and sold.
  • Communicate and work collaboratively with Store Director, Grocery Department Manager, and all Grocery associates to maintain standards and exceed guest expectations.
  • Assist guests with locating items on and off the sales floor, providing product suggestions and alternatives when appropriate.
  • Address guest concerns and resolve issues when a guest is not satisfied with the service or product received.
  • Contribute to overall cleanliness of the department by sanitizing, organizing, and cleaning work areas, shelving, and sales floor as needed.
  • Ensure all quality standards are being met, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm.
  • Maintain regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and provide adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences.

Requirements

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively to a diverse crew in a fast-paced environment.
  • Thorough understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies, including proper lifting techniques and box cutter safety.
  • Ability to use equipment such as power jack, walk behind lift, WAV, baler, and compactor.
