As a Grocery Manager, you will play a pivotal role in creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Your primary responsibility will be to establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. You will direct and supervise all functions, duties, and activities for the grocery department, ensuring that the day-to-day operations run smoothly. Embracing the Customer 1st strategy is essential, as you will encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service while demonstrating the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. In this role, you will adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines, ensuring that proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and that temperature logs are accurately kept. You will report all safety risks or issues, including illegal activities such as robbery, theft, or fraud, and notify management of any customer or employee accidents. Training department associates on inventory management, stocking, and Computer Assisted Ordering (CAO) will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will also plan, organize, and supervise the inventory process, ensuring that daily, weekly, and monthly price changes are scheduled and implemented effectively. Your role will involve maintaining an awareness of inventory and stocking conditions, noting any discrepancies, and assisting store management in preparing the store/department budget and profit and loss reviews. You will monitor and control expenses for the department, stay current with seasonal and special ads, and implement promotional plans. Additionally, you will prepare and submit seasonal critiques for the sales and merchandising supervisor and create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management. Understanding the store's layout and product offerings will enable you to respond to customer inquiries and make informed suggestions about products. You will also be responsible for training and developing associates, participating in performance appraisals, and fostering teamwork to achieve company and store goals.
