About The Position

The Grocery Manager at Sprouts Farmers Market is responsible for overseeing the sales and operations of multiple departments, including Grocery, Dairy, Frozen Food, and Beer/Wine. This role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service while managing team performance, inventory, and compliance with safety standards. Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age with 1 year of managerial or supervisory experience in a multi-department retail, hospitality, or service environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outgoing and friendly demeanor with a positive attitude.
  • Proven leadership ability to build and motivate staff.
  • Working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, and financial goals.
  • Strong focus on detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Food Safety certification and knowledge of safety regulations.
  • Strong organization and planning skills; able to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to lift and transfer heavy items (up to 60 lbs) and perform repetitive physical tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the sales and operations of Grocery, Dairy, Frozen Food, and Beer/Wine departments.
  • Ensure proper handling and rotation of products to maintain freshness.
  • Control costs by monitoring operations to increase profitability and manage labor costs.
  • Assist in preparing the store for physical inventory counts.
  • Oversee the unloading of trucks and verify deliveries against invoices.
  • Manage ordering, compliance, sanitation, back-room inventory, and department safety.
  • Engage and evaluate team members through coaching and performance reviews.
  • Recruit, hire, and make promotion decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager.
  • Address team member concerns and document corrective actions when necessary.
  • Create and adjust schedules to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Communicate standards, expectations, and product knowledge to team members.
  • Lead a team to deliver high-quality products and exceptional customer service.
