About the position

The Grocery Team Leader at Giant Eagle is responsible for leading the Grocery Department by supervising and managing Team Members, ordering products, and implementing merchandising initiatives. This role focuses on driving business growth while ensuring customer satisfaction and maximizing profits. The Team Leader is accountable for the department's operating performance and is expected to promote a culture of respect, inclusion, and diversity among Team Members.

Responsibilities

• Interview, select, and train Team Members.
• Direct the work of Team Members.
• Appraise Team Members' productivity and efficiency for promotions or status changes.
• Handle Team Member issues, including complaints.
• Discipline Team Members as necessary.
• Plan and distribute work among Team Members.
• Ensure safety and security for Team Members and the store.
• Manage the budget and inventory for the department.
• Monitor compliance measures and implement necessary actions.
• Provide motivational leadership and reduce turnover through effective training.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Retail work experience or Store Leader recommendation.
• Supervisory experience in retail or similar roles.
• Demonstrated product knowledge relevant to the grocery department.
• Food Safety certification required.
