Ground C2 Systems Engineer

About the position

The Ground C2 Systems Engineer will lead and provide guidance to teams in the provision of technical support and expertise for test, engineering, and training efforts related to Ground C2 systems such as JTCW, TCS, GCCS, TSOA, CHE, CDN, JBC-P, or MCH. This role involves defining, organizing, and assigning activities to accomplish engineering and testing efforts, as well as providing technical mentoring to individuals and teams. The engineer will develop, integrate, and implement solutions to diverse, highly complex technical problems across multiple areas and disciplines. Additionally, the engineer will develop, review, write, or provide technical input to technical test and engineering documents, and will be responsible for documenting technical status, progress, and problems encountered during test and engineering events. Interaction with customers to identify and define complex problems and to develop and implement strategies for resolving technical issues is also a key responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Leads and provides guidance to teams in technical support for Ground C2 systems.
• Defines, organizes, and assigns activities for engineering and testing efforts.
• Provides technical mentoring to individuals and teams.
• Develops, integrates, and implements solutions to complex technical problems.
• Develops and reviews technical test and engineering documents.
• Documents technical status, progress, and problems during test events.
• Interacts with customers to identify and define complex problems.
• Works with customers to evaluate technical requirements and develop test plans.
• Identifies, plans, allocates, and optimizes resources for project tasks.
• Manages and maintains equipment and configurations in labs.

Requirements

• Five years' experience as a systems engineer.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• Two years' experience with Ground C2 systems.
• Experience in project management, configuration management, and quality control procedures.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience administering VMware ESXi, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Windows Server.
• Experience in Microsoft Active Directory.
• Working knowledge of network administration and troubleshooting of Cisco routing and switching.
• CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE).
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
• Certified Systems Engineering Professional.
