About the position

As a Ground Maintenance Mechanic (GMM) in a motorized role, you will be an integral part of Delta's Ground Support Equipment team. This position requires a minimum of 6 months of experience in a vehicle or heavy equipment maintenance environment, along with a solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems as they apply to industrial powered systems. The GMM (Motorized) will perform tasks similar to those of a semi-skilled vehicle or heavy equipment maintenance mechanic, ensuring that all ground support equipment is maintained to the highest standards of safety and efficiency. In this role, you will apply appropriate tooling, equipment, and materials to accomplish minor maintenance functions. This includes conducting inspections, troubleshooting minor issues, repairing, removing, and replacing components on select Ground Support Equipment. You will also assist a Lead Ground Maintenance Technician or a Ground Maintenance Technician on motorized equipment as needed, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. Additionally, you will be responsible for completing data entry to record work assignments and will connect with other company personnel as necessary to facilitate smooth operations. This is a full-time position with a starting pay of $25.71 per hour, and it offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the operational excellence of Delta's ground support services while developing your skills in a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Apply appropriate tooling, equipment, and materials to accomplish minor maintenance functions including inspections, minor troubleshooting, repairing, removing, and replacing components on select Ground Support Equipment.
  • Assist a Lead Ground Maintenance Technician or a Ground Maintenance Technician on motorized equipment as needed.
  • Complete data entry to record work assignments and connect with other Company personnel as needed.

Requirements

  • 6 months of experience in a vehicle/heavy equipment maintenance environment.
  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic fields as they apply to industrial powered systems.
  • Possess a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and have authorization to work in the United States.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Ability to lift items weighing between 50 and 70 pounds.
  • Willingness to work a fixed and/or rotating schedule including afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must achieve a satisfactory score on entry tests structured to determine ability to perform required tasks.

  • Detailed understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic subject areas.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and apply information found in technical documents, manuals, and schematics.
  • Strong communication skills while working as a team and coordinating repairs with other Delta personnel and outside vendors.
  • Ability to respond to customers' needs with minimum direction and perform repairs in time-sensitive situations.
  • Completion of a two-year degree at a post-secondary technical school.
