About the position

The Team Captain at Horizon Air is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the Ground Service group, ensuring that the team effectively moves guests and their belongings from curb to cabin. This position involves leading, directing, and motivating Ground Service Agents while also performing their duties. The Team Captain plays a crucial role in achieving operational goals and maintaining high standards of customer service.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Ground Service Agents on shift and ensure the team's success in achieving operational goals.
• Assign flights for the day and manage the scheduling of agents on a weekly basis.
• Ensure Ground Service Agents follow proper procedures and protocols.
• Perform clerical functions and assist with reports as needed.
• Address unexpected passenger needs or complaints effectively.
• Perform Ground Service Agent duties as required.

Requirements

• A minimum of 6 months of customer service or airline operations experience.
• Ability to lead, direct, and motivate teams for optimum performance.
• Strong active listening and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have a valid unexpired driver's license issued by a US state, a US territory, or the District of Columbia.
• Ability to obtain USPS Mail Handling Certification.
• Ability to consistently lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to bend, stoop, squat, reach, and grasp.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics and communicate in English.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum age of 18 and must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice-to-haves

• A minimum of 1 year of customer service or community service experience.
• Previous leadership experience.
