About the position

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable. As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will directly support Blue Origin's success through skilled management of the development and administration of appropriate standards and tools for systems engineering disciplines including systems architecture, systems integration, trade studies, requirements development and decomposition, verification approaches, configuration management, gated reviews, systems safety, and technical performance metric management. Responsibilities

  • Works with integrated functional teams to define, develop, and execute integration and test activities for integrated systems
  • Develop strategies and approaches for specialty engineering (operability, reliability, maintainability, supportability) integration, analysis and verification
  • Develop systems engineering artifacts to include requirements specifications, ICDs, test plans, test procedures, and test reports
  • Lead technical reviews and failure investigations

Requirements

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in Engineering or related technical field
  • 2+ years experience in Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test
  • Hands-on experience in developing, authoring, and executing integrated tests and/or operating complex systems
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with requirements development/management tools such as DOORS, DOORS Next Gen
  • Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) and/or data management tools such as Windchill
  • Experience with collaboration tools such as Confluence and JIRA
  • Ability to work with partially defined requirements and changing criteria
  • Experience with Cryogenic, Pneumatic, and/or Hydraulic systems
  • Experience with RF, communication, and/or control systems
