About the position
The Groundperson is responsible for assisting in tree maintenance and vegetation management by gathering and feeding brush and debris into a wood chipper, ensuring safety by scanning for trip and fall hazards, and maintaining equipment and materials. This entry-level position offers an opportunity to work with a nationwide utility contractor known for its commitment to safety and efficiency in line clearance services.
Responsibilities
- Gather and feed brush and debris into a wood chipper.
- Scan areas for trip and fall hazards.
- Ensure other workers stay out of the path of travel.
- Maintain equipment and materials in good condition.
- Operate chainsaw to cut brush, logs, and stumps of larger trees.
- Service vehicles and equipment, keeping them clean and mechanically sound.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
