About the position
The Grounds/General Maintenance Technician at Amentum is responsible for supporting the Facilities Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Services Contract by performing general maintenance and repair tasks across various facilities. This role emphasizes safety, compliance with environmental and quality standards, and the execution of maintenance work orders. The technician will engage in a variety of tasks including painting, carpentry, plumbing, and grounds maintenance, ensuring that all work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe workplace and prioritize safety in all operations.
- Comply with Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements.
- Perform general maintenance and repair of equipment and building structures.
- Execute work orders generated from the site's computer maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Conduct grounds maintenance activities such as mowing, edging, and debris collection.
- Repair and replace sinks, toilets, door locks, and other fixtures.
- Provide verbal feedback or detailed reports to the O&M supervisor daily.
- Prepare and submit detailed purchase requests for assigned tasks.
- Assist in maintaining shop inventory for day-to-day used items.
- Perform other duties as directed, including moving and assembling furniture.
Requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Clearance.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 3 years of experience performing similar duties.
- Computer literacy for online training and communication.
- Valid driver's license from the applicant's home state.
- Heavy equipment experience/certifications (can be waived).
