About the position
The Grounds/Housekeeper position at Oak Meadows Apartments is essential for maintaining the community's aesthetic appeal and ensuring resident satisfaction. This role involves a variety of tasks including grounds maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs, all performed with a focus on professionalism and quality. The Grounds/Housekeeper will work both independently and as part of a team to uphold company standards and enhance the living environment for residents.
Responsibilities
- Professionally communicate with contractors, vendors, and residents
- Maintain clean dumpster areas and gather litter from grounds
- Pull weeds from flower beds, mulch areas, and lawns
- Prune and trim trees, shrubs, and hedges using appropriate tools
- Maintain parking areas and sidewalks, including sweeping and patching
- Lay mulch around trees, shrubs, and flowers
- Perform painting and wood replacement in vacant units
- Keep building entrances neat, clean, and attractive
- Maintain amenity areas such as playgrounds and picnic areas
- Remove ice and snow from walkways and drives for safety
- Inspect roofs and attics, perform temporary repairs, and maintain gutters
- Operate powered equipment such as mowers and blowers
- Assist with inventory and keeping shop areas clean
- Remove trash and debris from vacant units and assist with evictions
- Clean and prepare vacant apartments for leasing, including appliances and floors
- Clean common areas and maintain community room areas
- Use proper safety precautions at all times
- Lift up to 50 lbs. and climb ladders as required
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License
- Experience in property management
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Positive attitude and desire to make a difference
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with powered equipment operation
- Knowledge of landscaping and grounds maintenance
