About the position

The Grounds Maintenance Tech I position is responsible for the maintenance and daily preparation of the golf course, ensuring it remains in excellent condition for guests. This role involves operating various machinery and equipment, performing grounds construction and maintenance tasks, and providing superior service to guests and team members.

Responsibilities

• Operate powered equipment to mow greens, approaches, fairway, tees, and rough.
• Manage areas planted with trees, shrubs, and flowers.
• Set up the course tee markers and change cups.
• Maintain ball washers, water hazards, and bunkers.
• Operate light equipment essential to haul materials and remove debris around the course.
• Trim trees, prune shrubs, and pull weeds as needed.
• Perform duties in a courteous and professional manner to ensure meeting guest's needs.
• Show initiative and seek additional assignments that will better serve guests.
• Keep all golf course equipment and tools in a clean and good working order.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Two years of golf course experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Ability to perform physical tasks related to the operation of small equipment and tools.
• Self-motivated with a desire to complete projects in a timely and efficient manner.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience operating machinery or small equipment related to golf course maintenance.
• Ability to work alone or in a group on specific tasks.
• Open to being trained and coached on various ways to complete assigned tasks.
