About the position

The Groundskeeper Helper is responsible for the maintenance and construction activities of grounds, ensuring the upkeep of landscaping and related tasks. This role involves operating various equipment and tools, scheduling irrigation, and performing minor maintenance on grounds maintenance equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain shrubs, trees, lawns, planting areas, sprinkler systems, and area watering lines.
• Operate large power and field mowers, hand tools, and large vehicles associated with ground maintenance and landscaping activities.
• Schedule and coordinate irrigation and watering activities as required in assigned area.
• Trim and prune a variety of trees and shrubs as required.
• Shovel and remove snow and ice from designated areas such as roofs, sidewalks, and entryways as required.
• Perform minor maintenance and repair on equipment and tools as required.

Requirements

• Two (2) years of Grounds Maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of equipment, tools, and procedures of grounds construction and care.
• Knowledge of fertilizers, insecticides, and herbicides used in grounds care and gardening.
• Skilled in operating grounds maintenance and grounds construction equipment and tools.
