About the position

The Groundskeeper position at Rite of Passage involves maintaining the grounds and facilities, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for staff and students. The role includes performing various maintenance tasks, managing landscaping, and responding to emergency calls, all while acting as a positive role model within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Performs weed control, plants, feeds, waters, and prunes all bushes and other plants and grass areas located on site.
  • Maintains all site sprinkler systems and ensures they are in good working order.
  • Performs work orders related to general building maintenance, including minor electrical repairs, drywall repairs, painting, and plumbing.
  • Completes required reports and documentation in a timely manner and advises management of any problematic situations.
  • Ensures the safety, health, and welfare of staff and students at all times.
  • Acts as a positive role model and mentor for both staff and students.
  • Assists with special functions that support the effort of the company and participates in events as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Must possess a current State Driver's License and have an acceptable driving record for the past three years if required to operate a company vehicle.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background clearance check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.
  • Ability to prepare written reports and correspondence; proficient in the use of computers.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to function independently and as a member of a team in a multi-task environment.
  • Must be flexible and able to handle multiple priorities.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 year of experience in commercial lawn maintenance.
  • 1 year of experience in groundskeeping.
