About the position

The Group Benefits Account Manager at Patriot Growth Insurance Services is responsible for managing all aspects of group benefits for tier one clients. This role involves overseeing client benefit plans, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and maintaining strong relationships with carriers to enhance client satisfaction. The position requires a deep understanding of benefit plans and market trends, along with the ability to deliver clear communication to clients and their employees.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the administration of client benefit plans and manage the renewal process.
  • Deliver clear and concise benefit information to employees within client organizations.
  • Provide ongoing customer service by addressing and resolving benefit-related inquiries.
  • Resolve benefit or claim issues in collaboration with appropriate carrier contacts.
  • Develop and sustain strong carrier relationships on behalf of clients.
  • Provide training, mentoring, and coaching to the benefit staff.
  • Oversee the implementation process following a sale, including enrollment and preparation of group paperwork.
  • Manage the enrollment of new hires for clients through the appropriate BenAdmin platform.
  • Request renewals and negotiate rate adjustments to ensure favorable terms for clients.
  • Ensure all client contracts are compliant within insurance regulations.

Requirements

  • An Associate or Bachelor of Science degree in a business-related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in the Employee Benefits Insurance Industry.
  • An active Alabama Life and Health Insurance license.
  • Experience working with employee benefits agency management systems (BenAdmin preferred).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Proficient with use of Microsoft Office Suite and products.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both peers and clients.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
