About the position

The Employee Benefits Service Manager at The Standard is responsible for managing and supporting business growth, profitability, and retention through the development of customer service strategies within the Employee Benefits Sales and Service Office. This role involves leading a team to ensure a customer-focused approach throughout the customer lifecycle, coordinating service strategies with the Director of Field Service, and partnering with the Employee Benefits Sales Manager to meet office goals. The position requires a strong emphasis on leadership, strategic planning, and customer relationship management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support business growth, profitability, and retention through customer service strategies.
  • Develop and implement a business plan for assigned offices focusing on profitability and growth objectives.
  • Lead and motivate staff to maintain a customer-focused approach throughout the customer lifecycle.
  • Provide leadership and counseling to staff for successful customer renewals and service delivery.
  • Review, negotiate, and resolve complex service issues escalated by staff and customers.
  • Attend finalist presentations and accompany Account Managers on broker and customer visits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in the Employee Benefits field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Life and Disability insurance license for all states within the office's assigned territory and the state of New York.
  • Personal automobile available for business use with adequate insurance and a safe driving record.
