About the position

The Group Benefits Technical Assistant will provide exceptional service and support to the Group Life & Health Team at an independent insurance agency in Arizona. This full-time, on-site role involves assisting with daily processing, managing account information, and ensuring efficient workflow within the team. The position requires strong administrative skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

  • Support and assist the Group Benefits Team in all aspects of everyday processing and workload.
  • Create Activities in Epic for all action/communication performed on Client Files, detailing work completed and attaching any applicable documents.
  • Follow Imaging procedures to attach all documentation (faxes, email, documents) to customer files using Epic.
  • Enter and update Activity records continuously.
  • Complete follow-ups to confirm requests sent and activities have each achieved a successful result.
  • Close Epic Activities in client file upon completion.
  • Request Insurance ID cards from carriers and monitor for delivery to client.
  • Support Life & Health team as required and assist with any Group Benefits team projects.
  • Track census and new groups out to bid for receipt in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain supplies for the Group Benefits department.
  • Follow up on claims and billing issues for final resolution.
  • Preparation of request for proposal (RFP), proposals, employee open enrollment materials.
  • On-line enrollment platform buildouts.
  • Perform other essential duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Three years administration experience required.
  • Group Benefits administration experience preferred.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Strong PC skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Aptitude to learn other Agency Systems and programs.
  • Ability to problem solve and resolve issues.
  • Experience with Applied (EPIC) agency management system preferred, but not required.
  • Demonstrates continuous learning orientation.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Professionalism in appearance, communication, and treatment of others.
