About the position

At Intuit Mailchimp, the Group Creative Director (GCD) plays a pivotal role akin to a point guard on a basketball team, facilitating the flow of creative work among talented team members while also taking charge when necessary. This position requires a blend of leadership and hands-on creativity, demanding mental agility and the ability to navigate complex projects. As the Global Group Creative Director of Campaigns, you will partner closely with the Head of Creative to craft and communicate Mailchimp's story in impactful and innovative ways across various marketing channels, including paid, owned, earned, and performance marketing, as well as events. In this role, you will oversee a multidisciplinary team of creatives, guiding them to collaborate effectively and produce work that is not only innovative but also inspirational. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in copywriting or art direction, with extensive experience in launching global campaigns that resonate culturally and are executed at scale. Your leadership will be crucial in elevating the creative quality of work produced by the team, ensuring that it meets both business objectives and garners international recognition for the Mailchimp brand. The GCD will be responsible for providing constructive feedback to in-house creative directors and designers across various disciplines, including graphic design, motion graphics, social media, video production, and editing. This role also requires a deep understanding of the production process, from pre-production through post-production, with a particular emphasis on event marketing. The successful candidate will be comfortable being hands-on, willing to contribute directly to the creative process alongside a dedicated team.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing a diverse team of creatives on the In-House Agency Team Wink for all campaigns across Consumer Marketing, Event Marketing, and Performance Marketing channels.
  • Uplevel creative quality of work across the team in partnership with marketing, delivering both business results and international recognition for the Mailchimp brand in the industry.
  • Provide meaningful feedback to in-house creative directors and designers across a breadth of disciplines, including graphic, motion, social, video, and editing.
  • Bring depth to conceptual creative direction, art direction, copywriting, and design.

Requirements

  • 10+ years as a creative leader at a globally recognized ad agency or in-house team.
  • 3+ years working in-house for iconic, global brands.
  • Award-winning portfolio of outstanding creative work done on a variety of brands across channels.
  • Experience managing dynamic and creative teams.
  • Ability to craft a story or concept that shapes culture, not just reacts to it.
  • Strong grasp of craft across a wide variety of formats.
  • Vast knowledge of the production process, from pre-production through post-production.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with event marketing initiatives.
  • Comfort with hands-on creative work alongside the team.
