About the position

The Group Engineering Manager at Microsoft is responsible for leading a team focused on developing customer-centered products and services within the Azure CXP team. This role emphasizes collaboration across various teams to enhance customer experiences and drive improvements in cloud quality, security, and reliability. The manager will mentor other engineering managers and ensure the delivery of scalable and reliable solutions that meet customer needs, all while fostering a culture of inclusion and growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead the organization to develop world-class customer-centered products and services.
• Collaborate with Azure CXP Program Managers, Data Scientists, and other engineering teams to define and deliver critical products.
• Empower Azure teams to make data-driven decisions using the data managed by services.
• Mentor and guide other engineering managers within the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 8+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• 4+ years of experience with large-scale distributed systems and cloud technology stack such as Azure or AWS.
• 6+ years of people management experience including 2+ years as a 2nd level manager.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 10+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Experience with implementing large-scale distributed software services and modern DevOps practices.
• Architectural and technical system design skills and experience.
• Proficiency in computer science concepts including data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
