About the position

The Group Facilitator is responsible for delivering the RCA Substance Abuse curriculum to patients in residential and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) recovery programs. This role involves conducting 15-20 one-hour group sessions per week, attending staff meetings and trainings, and potentially collaborating with the Clinical Director to develop new curriculum. If the facilitator holds the CAC-AD credential and is a Board-approved Supervisor, they may also supervise staff with A&D trainee status.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver RCA Substance Abuse curriculum effectively to meet learning objectives.
  • Engage with the recovery community in a culturally competent manner.
  • Complete group notes and all assigned paperwork.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Provide supervision and training to A&D Trainee status employees each week if holding CAC-AD credential.
  • Complete supervision documentation and conduct monthly group observations for each trainee.

Requirements

  • Minimum of Associate Degree in Human Services, Alcohol & Drug Counseling, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience, preferably in a residential setting.
  • One of the following Maryland Board of Health Alcohol & Drug Counseling credentials: Alcohol and Drug Trainee (ADT Trainee Status) with Board-approved Supervisor, Certified Supervised Counselor -- Alcohol and Drug (CSC-AD) with Board-approved Supervisor, or Certified Associate Counselor -- Alcohol and Drug (CAC-AD).
