About the position

The Group Home Manager will oversee the daily operations of two group homes in Clinton and Madison, CT, providing a safe and supportive environment for residents with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. This role involves managing staff, finances, and compliance with regulations while ensuring high-quality care tailored to individual resident needs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the group home, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for residents.
  • Oversee budgeting and financial management to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Develop and implement care plans tailored to individual resident needs, focusing on memory care and dementia support.
  • Supervise staff, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations to ensure high standards of care.
  • Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and external stakeholders to promote community engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards in home care and senior living environments.
  • Conduct regular assessments of resident needs and adjust care plans accordingly.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate medical services for residents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Nursing, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may substitute for education.
  • Proven experience in managing group homes or similar facilities within the senior care sector.
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting processes and financial management within a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
  • Compassionate approach to caregiving with a strong understanding of memory care and dementia-related challenges.
  • Ability to lead a team effectively while fostering a positive work environment.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality care that respects the dignity of all residents.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2-5 years of previous management experience in a group home setting.
  • Experience with behaviors and knowledge of DDS and Therap.
