About the position

The Group Home Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and management of two behavioral group homes that serve individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). This role focuses on ensuring high-quality care, compliance with regulations, and the effective implementation of behavioral programs. The manager will supervise staff, manage resources, and collaborate with clients, families, and external stakeholders to provide a supportive and safe living environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of both group homes, including staff scheduling, resource allocation, and facility maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, health and safety standards, and organizational policies.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise staff, including Direct Service Professionals (DSPs) and other support personnel.
  • Provide regular performance evaluations, feedback, and professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure staff adherence to behavioral intervention plans and care protocols.
  • Collaborate with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and other professionals to ensure the effective implementation of behavior intervention plans.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behavioral programs and make necessary adjustments based on data and feedback.
  • Address and resolve client concerns, behavior issues, and incidents promptly and effectively.
  • Facilitate family and caregiver communication to provide updates and address any concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records, including client documentation, incident reports, and staff schedules.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, including tracking expenses and ensuring cost-effective operations.
  • Generate reports and maintain documentation for regulatory compliance and internal review.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a managerial role within a group home or similar residential setting, particularly with individuals with I/DD.
  • Certification in CPR/First Aid.
  • Training in behavior management and crisis intervention (provided by Shalom Heritage if not already obtained).
  • In-depth understanding of intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral management techniques, and relevant regulations.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance standards.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, assist with physical transfers, and perform other physical tasks related to client care.
  • Capacity to handle stressful situations and remain calm during emergencies.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and on-call duties as required.
