About the position

The Program Manager at New Day, Inc. is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a therapeutic group home for youth aged 9 to 17 facing mental health and behavioral challenges. This role focuses on creating a safe and supportive environment, supervising staff, coordinating with clinical teams, and providing therapeutic interventions. The position requires flexibility, as it includes on-call duties and a structured schedule from Friday to Tuesday.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the therapeutic youth group home(s).
  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment for participants.
  • Supervise staff and coordinate with clinical teams.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and orderly environment within the assigned lodge.
  • Develop and prepare weekly and monthly reports in coordination with the Lead Clinical.
  • Provide transportation for participants to and from medical clinics when needed.
  • Ensure adequate facilities, equipment, supplies, and resources for program operation.
  • Collaborate with the Residential Team Lead and Lead Clinical Staff for information exchange.
  • Facilitate the transfer of clinical records confidentially.
  • Train Youth Empowerment Specialists and coordinate their development.
  • Conduct therapeutic interventions with residents under supervision.
  • Plan and organize weekend activities with approval from the Residential Team Lead.
  • Facilitate weekly treatment team meetings to discuss youth needs.
  • Inventory and monitor participant medication counts.
  • Assume on-call duties during scheduled weeks.
  • Conduct performance reviews for lodge-assigned Youth Empowerment Specialists.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a human service field or 6 years of human services experience without a degree.
  • Familiarity with word processing and computer applications (Word, Excel, Microsoft Teams, Zoom).
  • Strong managerial and training skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate diplomacy.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred experience with seriously emotionally disturbed and chemically dependent populations.
