About the position

Discovery Living LLC is seeking a dedicated staff member for an all-female group home in Eagle River, AK. The role involves supporting residents with developmental disabilities, helping them to live as independently as possible while ensuring a safe and healthy environment. Staff will work in shifts that allow for sleep time in a dedicated staff bedroom, with consecutive shifts ranging from two to four days per week. Responsibilities include supervising residents, assisting with daily activities, and driving residents to appointments and community activities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and assist residents to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
• Help residents live independently with guidance and support.
• Drive residents to appointments and community activities using a company vehicle.
• Assist residents with cooking and housekeeping tasks.
• Track goals and take notes on resident progress.
• Help residents access the community safely.

Requirements

• Experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
• Knowledge of caregiving and personal care home practices.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Ability to assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs).
• Understanding of residents' rights and needs in a group home setting.
• Strong communication and behavior management skills.
