About the position
The Group Home Supervisor plays a crucial role in providing direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position involves assisting clients in achieving their personal goals and promoting independence in daily living activities. Supervisors engage in various community activities, help with household tasks, and ensure the well-being of residents in a group home setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as hygiene, cooking, and cleaning.
- Facilitate community activities including grocery shopping, attending events, and appointments.
- Help clients plan vacations and become more independent.
- Work varying shifts including evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver's license or picture ID required.
- Experience in supervising individuals with disabilities preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in community support or social services.
- Ability to work as part of a close-knit team.
- Sensitivity and empathy in dealing with clients.
