About the position

The Group Leader position at the YMCA of Springfield is a part-time role focused on providing direct supervision and a quality experience for children in an after-school program. The Group Leader will lead structured activities, maintain cleanliness, and foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision of a group of children in an after-school program.
• Lead structured activities and ensure a high-quality experience for children.
• Follow safety procedures and emergency policies.
• Maintain cleanliness of program areas and report maintenance issues.
• Participate in daily team huddles and engage positively with children.
• Demonstrate responsibility for the safety and well-being of all kids in the program.
• Provide excellent customer service to YMCA members and guests.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age, preferably 18.
• Two years of previous childcare experience or equivalent education preferred.
• Ability to learn quickly and work with integrity and discretion.
• Must complete all required trainings within 60 days of employment, including CPR and first aid.
