About the position

The Group Leader at Eurofins Scientific is responsible for providing technical leadership and overseeing laboratory operations. This role combines hands-on laboratory work with supervisory responsibilities, ensuring project timelines are met while mentoring staff and managing day-to-day activities. The Group Leader plays a crucial role in maintaining quality standards and compliance with regulatory guidelines, while also serving as a technical resource for both the division and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day laboratory activities and ensure project timelines are met.
  • Identify training needs and mentor staff members.
  • Provide technical laboratory oversight and serve as a technical resource for the division and clients.
  • Incorporate outsourced analyses into Certificates of Analysis (CoAs) and reports.
  • Collaborate to complete investigations and meet investigation timelines.
  • Prepare reports according to standard operating procedures and GMP guidelines.
  • Complete Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) and Effectiveness Checks.
  • Input data into Eurofins LIMS for reporting to clients.
  • Address data review comments and Quality Assurance comments.
  • Supervise staff in hiring, titling, discipline, and retention.
  • Monitor employee performance and take appropriate action.
  • Manage resources necessary to complete projects and studies.
  • Guide multiple projects through workflow, considering varying deadlines.
  • Ensure ownership of all quality issues and goals.
  • Provide or arrange training for staff, including orientation and reassignment training.
  • Maintain compliance with organizational policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and Eurofins staff and leadership.
  • Evaluate project time and material estimates to ensure completion according to guidelines.
  • Assist marketing, sales, and business development as needed.
  • Represent the group at conferences, meetings, and workshops.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, chemical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a directly relevant setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff and projects.
  • Familiarity with Empower and Biochemistry Analytical Techniques is advantageous.
  • Experience in a contract laboratory setting is preferred.
  • Commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively.
