About the position

The Group Leader (LEAN Facilitator) at MillerKnoll is responsible for supporting team members and leading improvement initiatives within the organization. This role focuses on problem-solving, facilitating kaizen activities, and ensuring effective communication across shifts. The Group Leader plays a crucial role in maintaining safety standards, training team members, and achieving measurable improvements in performance and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Actively engage and encourage team members in improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct hour x hour, standardized work, and problem-solving documentation.
  • Encourage safe behavior and 5S housekeeping activities.
  • Ensure measurable improvement to goals.
  • Facilitate quick response to problems.
  • Maintain daily communication with Work Team Leader and team members.
  • Maintain effective communication and cooperation with all other shifts and Facilitators.
  • Perform problem identification and kaizen activities.
  • Support training initiatives of team members in standardized work through job instruction (JI).
  • Utilize a structured approach to problem-solving including regular reflections.
  • Work with Work Team Leader to ensure quality criteria is followed and quality checks are completed appropriately.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Successfully completed Facilitator Bridge Program or equivalent development.
  • Demonstrated initiative to lead others for improved performance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to apply MKPS technical tools, such as standardized work and job instructions.
  • Knowledge of the 4 Philosophies of MKPS and their relation to one another.
  • Ability to practice and document kaizen (PDCA).
  • Demonstrated ability to teach others and build effective relationships.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
