About the position

The Group Logistics Manager at Ryder System is responsible for managing the financial, operational, and employee aspects of multiple accounts within the logistics sector. This role focuses on the profitable retention and growth of business, ensuring that financial, employee, safety, and customer satisfaction goals are met. The position involves setting goals, assessing skills, providing ongoing feedback, and developing both direct and indirect reports while maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage the overall financial, operational, and employee aspects of multiple accounts.
• Ensure profitable retention and growth of business within the span of control.
• Set goals, assess skills, and provide ongoing employee feedback.
• Conduct performance evaluations and implement performance improvement plans.
• Identify situations that need to be elevated to the director.
• Maintain corrective staffing levels to avoid unnecessary use of outside labor.
• Conduct quality selection of qualified personnel and improve employee retention.
• Review KPI tracking and implement improvements as necessary.
• Ensure all staff is trained in Transportation/Distribution Management.
• Conduct ongoing self-audits of location processes and individual accountabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain, or related field.
• Five years or more relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, or warehouse management.
• Five years or more managing, leading, and developing direct reports.
• Three years or more demonstrated experience in developing and implementing logistics solutions.
• Strong project management and facilitation skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in a related field preferred.
• Experience in a LEAN work environment preferred.
• Sales experience preferred.
• Multi-client experience preferred.
