About the position

The Group Manager Logistics I is responsible for managing the financial, operational, and employee aspects of multiple accounts within Ryder. This role focuses on the profitable retention and growth of business, ensuring that financial, employee, safety, and customer satisfaction goals are met. The position involves setting goals, assessing skills, providing feedback, and developing direct and indirect reports while maintaining effective customer relations and improving operational processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage the overall financial, operational, and employee aspects of multiple accounts.
• Set goals and conduct skills assessments for team members.
• Provide ongoing employee feedback and conduct performance evaluations.
• Develop direct and indirect reports and maintain corrective staffing levels.
• Ensure customer satisfaction and resolve problems effectively.
• Review KPI tracking and implement improvements as necessary.
• Conduct self-audits of location processes and individual accountabilities.
• Manage SOX invoice reconciliation and revenue recognition preparation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain, or equivalent experience.
• Five years or more of relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, or warehouse management.
• Experience managing large multi-level teams for five years or more.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing logistics solutions for three years or more.
• Strong project management and facilitation skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in a related field preferred.
• Experience in a LEAN work environment for three years or more preferred.
• Some sales experience preferred.
• Knowledge of truck brokerage advanced preferred.
