About the position

The Group Logistics Manager at Ryder is responsible for managing the financial, operational, and employee aspects of multiple logistics accounts. This role focuses on the profitable retention and growth of business while ensuring that financial, employee, safety, and customer satisfaction goals are met. The position involves setting goals, assessing skills, providing feedback, and developing direct and indirect reports, as well as maintaining effective customer relationships and improving operational processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage the overall financial, operational, and employee aspects of multiple accounts.
• Set goals, assess skills, and conduct performance evaluations for employees.
• Develop direct and indirect reports and provide ongoing feedback.
• Ensure customer satisfaction and resolve problems effectively.
• Review KPI tracking and implement improvements as necessary.
• Conduct self-audits of location processes and individual accountabilities.
• Maintain corrective staffing levels to avoid unnecessary use of outside labor.
• Ensure all staff is trained in Transportation/Distribution Management.
• Improve employee retention and reduce accidents compared to previous years.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain, or equivalent experience.
• Five years or more of relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, or a related field.
• Five years or more managing large multi-level teams.
• Three years or more demonstrated experience in developing and implementing logistics solutions.
• Strong project management and facilitation skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
