About the position

The Group Manager Logistics I is responsible for managing the financial, operational, and employee aspects of multiple accounts within Ryder System. This role focuses on the profitable retention and growth of business, ensuring that financial, employee, safety, and customer satisfaction goals are met. The position involves setting goals, assessing skills, providing ongoing feedback, and developing both direct and indirect reports while maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage the overall financial, operational, and employee aspects of multiple accounts.
• Ensure profitable retention and growth of business within span of control.
• Set goals, assess skills, and conduct performance evaluations for employees.
• Provide ongoing feedback and conduct disciplinary actions as necessary.
• Develop direct and indirect reports and maintain corrective staffing levels.
• Create and maintain location processes and ensure staff training in Transportation/Distribution Management.
• Review KPI tracking and implement improvements to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Conduct self-audits of location processes and individual accountabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain, or related field required.
• Master's degree in related field preferred.
• Five or more years of relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, or warehouse management required.
• Five or more years of experience managing large multi-level teams required.
• Three or more years of demonstrated experience in developing and implementing logistics solutions required.
• Strong project management and facilitation skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a LEAN work environment preferred.
• Sales experience preferred.
• Multi-client experience preferred.
